People in our care

As nurses and midwives, we enter our profession because we care about people and understand that the connections made, the support that is given and the advocacy that is offered are crucial.

Care is a shared journey. We walk alongside and assist people with changes and challenges. We support, share information and collaborate. We encourage and promote self-responsibility and self-determination. And, as nurses and midwives, we learn about ourselves in this process, being offered constant opportunities to expand in how we practice in many and varied ways.

This section of our website offers reflections about the people in our care, written by midwives and nurses working across the spectrum of practice. The stories shared reflect the many aspects of these relationships and reveal how the ordinary becomes extra-ordinary in everyday care.
